Thanks for Organizing!

Thanks for being a hero in your community. People like you bring people together, inspire others and make the streets safer. HIGH FIVE!

Chicago Family Biking supports you in this journey by offering training, marketing, connecting you with other volunteers and of course - community!

Getting started

Here are the steps to starting a ride with Chicago Family Biking (CFB):

  1. Watch our informational training

  2. Sign up as a volunteer

  3. Work with volunteers in your area of interest to determine the details of your ride or event. CFB will connect you to others that have shown interest in your area.

  4. Submit basic event information to CFB via the Kidical Mass Calendar or via email for other events. PLEASE look at nearby rides and avoid days/weekends that they are riding.

  5. Send the copy to be used in event listings to chicagofamilybiking@gmail.com. Here is a template you can save a copy of and edit.

  6. Market your ride to your network! CFB will create event listings for you to share. (See more on marketing below)

  7. Have fun on your ride! Notify CFB via email or by texting 773.398.8981 in the event of cancellation due to weather.

  8. Send event recap and pictures to CFB to share on social media. Please tag us if you share on your own channels.

Marketing your ride

  • Make Posters/Flyers - good for hyper local rides.

  • Share in Facebook groups/ pages/messenger/invite feature through fb event.

  • Ask/message/tag local businesses, schools, local chambers and organizations to spread word.

  • Invite your local officials to join for a ride. Identify your reps here.

  • Post free event listings in online parent resources, like Red Tricycle, Chicago Parent, Macaroni Kids, etc.

  • BIG ONE - Send photos from your rides to CFB! The more fun moments we share, the more people will take notice and attend. FOMO is real.
